All coaches need to learn and the best way to learn is through taking courses, workshops and seminars. Some of those who teach coaches are teachers in educational establishments, others are coaches who offer tutoring to students.
 

You Can Work as a Coach in Media

Coaches may find work in electronic or print media in writing or broadcasting. Books, articles, audio and video recordings are all tools that can be used to help motivate and inform the people being coached. The professional media (e.g. newspapers, TV, radio) may also be important employers of coaches (e.g. sports coaches commenting on sporting events).
 

Coaching for Work

Coaches are supported by a range of services, including: coaching industry bodies, professional supervision, bookkeeping and other administrative services. Coaches may become involved in industry bodies, or may actually work for these organisations.

The type of work undertaken by people in this sector can be quite variable. Those working for organisations that represent the coaching industry are likely to spend time assisting coaches, producing newsletters and industry reports and organising events.

 

Health Coaching Jobs

Coaching involves guiding people to better choices for better lives; or fulfilling their potential personally and professionally. A health coach is focused on current problems:  helping clients cope and improve their situation. A coach is not a counsellor or therapist though.
 

Food and Nutrition Coaching

Food Coaches or Nutrition Coaches are not able to prescribe diets to clients but they can share general knowledge about healthy diets. Their main role is helping people to make lifestyle changes, stick to goals and stay motivated so as to improve the person’s overall health and wellbeing.
