Pickles

We've been working on an article on pickles for the next Home Grown Magazine; out late February; which is a great time to preserve that extra fruit and veg from the garden.

Pickles, chutneys and sauces are a great way to preserve excess produce, creating interesting bursts of flavour to add to meals.  
 

Technology changes Education

Universities and large colleges are spending huge amounts of money lately, on advertising, that appears aimed at winning market share, and steering students increasingly toward studying online, rather than on campus.

One must wonder:  What % of your course fees are going into giving you an education, compared with the % going into "selling" you the course.

Brain Plasticity

Neuroplasticity refers to the fact that our nervous system is not a static network of interconnected elements. In fact, the nervous system is plastic.

By this, we do not mean it is made of plastic, but that it is a living organ that changes and grows continually in response to our environment and genetics.   
 

Understanding the Brain
